BACHELOR OF BUSINESS ADMINSTRATION

Message from Dean, Faculty of Business

On behalf of all our faculty, administration, staff and students, welcome to the University of Skill Enrichment and Technology (USET) and School of Business and Entrepreneurship! I hope your visit to this website will be enlightening, meaningful and beneficial.

University of Skill Enrichment and Technology (USET) is a University for 21st Century. It has been designed to create a skilled workforce from the technical and vocational education system developing a pathway to higher education for the workforce. The absolute aim is to train the large unemployed young population of the country to turn them into demographic dividend rather than a burden. USET is a Digital University that will fulfill the target goals of vision 2021 and 2041 and participate in the 4th Industrial Revolution to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) of the United Nations.  USET is accredited by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and approved by the Ministry of Education, Government of Bangladesh. The USET has been given approval to run from a campus established at Signboard (Dhaka-Narayanganj Link Road).

USET is a private university in Bangladesh, was established in 2019 with the goals of providing high quality higher education, developing highly skill based human resources, and providing well-paying jobs to highly qualified faculty members with foreign degrees. Another key objective is to provide the training and opportunity to students and graduates for higher study abroad, either with a recognized degree or with transfer credits from USET. The USET faculty members, with degrees from foreign universities, over 50% from North America, the UK, Germany, Australia and Singapore are collectively the most qualified cluster of teachers in any university in Bangladesh. Student and faculty exchange with reputable overseas universities is of vital USET interest, to keep updated curriculum and teaching methodology in place and learn the latest techniques from institutions of higher learning abroad.

As you browse through the USET website, I hope you will get the distinct impression that USET is a quality institution and it walks the extra mile in terms of infrastructure, facilities and most importantly imparting knowledge to provide a world class education with highly qualified faculty in background, expertise and credentials. It will do more in the future with resolve, vision and conscientiousness.

As dean of the business school, I am extremely proud of the rich tradition of providing practical, experience-based business education that it has upheld since its founding. Our business program prepares students to become leaders with intellectual intensity necessary to meet the challenges of a time of critical transition in society. Located in an economic hub, the University of Skill Enrichment and Technology offers unique opportunities for our students to engage with companies and communities.

As Dean, building on input from faculty, students, staff, and alumni, he has identified five priorities for USET Business School  innovation in the School’s educational programs; intellectual ambition that advances ideas with impact in practice; continued internationalization, through building a global intellectual footprint; creating a culture of inclusion, where every member of the community can do their best work in support of the School’s mission; and fostering a culture of integration within USET Business School.

USET Business School Online, the School’s digital platform—encompassing all courses, and USET Live—that brings the dynamism of the USET classroom to online learning.

Together, we have worked to infuse that mission statement with meaning. When we say to educate, we of course think first and foremost about the extraordinary experience that occurs in our classrooms. Increasingly, we also highlight the transformational learning experience that our case method, field method, and now online programs provide to students around the world. What makes our education distinctive is that it builds on the enduring and new ideas our faculty members continually produce, which informs and influences the work of leaders and their organizations in many different arenas.

Leaders are people of competence and character—individuals who have the competence to make good decisions grounded in a general manager’s perspective and whose character demonstrates integrity, authenticity, and a willingness to be other-oriented rather than self-centered. Importantly, “leader” is not a title one gives oneself; rather, true leaders earn the trust and respect of others.

USET leaders contribute to society in many ways: as ethical and digital entrepreneurs, rational investors, efficient consultants, managers, philanthropists, public leaders, or active and engaged citizens. Today, more than ever, the School’s graduates are making a difference in every corner of the world.

Finally, in the world encompasses the reality that our greatest challenges and most exciting opportunities exist in a global context and require a global perspective, and leaders willing to play a vital role in shaping solutions that span geographies, industries, and ways of thinking. At a time when the world has a pressing demand for good leaders, USET Business School should be one of the best sources of supply. Our Business School must be there where the world’s best thinking about business and management takes place.

I would like to cordially invite all of you who are interested in expanding your knowledge and enriching your careers to explore USET School of Business and Entrepreneurship.
